Before the year Vikram Samvat 1972 (AD 1916), there was a prevailing superstition regarding Pirana Satpanth. During that time, a priest from Pirana visited our village. He was served a delicious meal at the home of one of his followers in the village, and he openly praised it. However, our village elders, including Mukhi Gopal Ratna, Patel Raja Karsan, and Diwani Mulji Keshra, expressed their displeasure with this. They believed that it went against the established principles of our community to allow such religious leaders to come to our village and misguide our gullible, ignorant brothers. Therefore, they decided to ban such leaders from visiting our village in order to protect our brothers from their misguidance.
In the month of Shravan in the year 1916 (Vikram Samvat 1972), during the Janmashtami festival days, Kakashree Ramji came to Versalpur village to perform Lihani on the day of Kachanchhath. After completing Lihani’s work, Kakashri Ramji left the village due to a dispute over the purchase of majus for the community’s needs. When he returned to Versalpur village from Bhadli village, the village elders boycotted him and did not allow him to come down.
In Vikram Samvat 1979, Kakashree Ramji Pirana arrived in Kutch as Gadipati. The leaders of our village invited him and social ties were established, such as (1) Dashond – four koris per person in the family, and (2) Sarbandhi – Chuladith collects according to the Savakori. However, due to a dispute over the account, Kakashree left the village early in the morning without informing anyone.
Our village stopped making any fund contributions to Satpanth Samaj, and the religious leaders and uncles did not show up afterward. As a result, Gamashree Versalpur was soon freed from the noise of Satpanth.
In the following years, the younger brothers who lived abroad became more aware of city culture and helped reconcile the minds of the elders living in the countryside. They established the Sanatan Samaj on Ashadha Sud-2 Bija of Vikram Samvat 1994, which was on 29-Jun-1938. Sri Lakshminarayan installed the pan idol of Lord, and Pawan hoisted the flags with a shovel instead of Dhaja.
In 1995, Vikram Samvat established a rural school in the village to educate children. The village managed the project, taking three years to plan the construction of the temple summit. On the Akhatrij day of Vikram Samvat 1997, the foundation of the temple was laid and organized. The temple is spired out of white stone, with all the big and small brothers living in the village joining hands to complete the task.
On the auspicious day of Shravan Sud-13 of Vikram Samvat 1998, which was on August 24th, 1942, Panmurti was consecrated in the temple by Maharajshri Odhavaramji Guru Laldasji of Deshlapar Vandhaya. Discussions were held to celebrate the golden jubilee of the temple when it turned fifty years old. The brothers living in the country, as well as abroad, unanimously decided to plan to build a new temple according to the new pattern, with marble idols to replace the old temple.
On August 22, 1991, Maharajshri Valdasji Gurushri Odhavaramji of Haridwar conducted the ceremony of raising the old temple and laying the foundation of the new temple. This was done on Shravan Sud-12 Thursday of Muhurta vs. Samvat 2047.
The three brothers who contributed greatly to this project were Diwani Narsinh Kanji, Limbani Heerji Karamshi, and Diwani Khimji Jetha, all living in Mumbai. They have sacrificed their time, money, and effort in this endeavor, and it is hoped that everyone in the village will appreciate their hard work.
The Pranapratistha of the idols of Shri Lakshminarayana Bhagwan was performed on August 11, 1992, which was Vikrama Samvat 2048 Shravan Sud-13 Tuesday, by Brahmakandi Astrologer Big Viraniwala Acharya Shri Revashankar Ratilal Rawal.
