Kolhapur means Dakshin Kashi (i.e., Kolhapur city famous as an important historical, commercial, and industrial center of Maharashtra where the holy pilgrimage site of Karveer Nivasini Mahalakshmi Mataji is located).

Patidars have settled in this city for business since around 1940. In no time, the population of Kolhapur society here has reached 2500.

When the society was formally established, the first administration was under the leadership of the staunch Sanatani elder Shri Khimji Lalji Bhadani. He is the father-in-law of Himmatbhai Ratanshi Khetani, the chief activist of the Sanatan movement of our society. After that, playing politics, Satpanthis kept that power with themselves for years. That is why two people from Satpanth Samaj had become presidents from the then presidents of Kolhapur Samaj. They continuously called Satpanthi preachers and Bavas in Kolhapur Samaj and promoted and propagated Satpanth extensively by luring and cajoling their relatives, loved ones, in-laws, and poor brothers. Even today, despite understanding all the talks and the situation, these Satpanthi brothers have taken so much advantage of Pirana that they still do not want to leave this Muslim sect.

After our Shri Akhil Bharatiya Kutch Kadva Patidar Samaj published the “White Paper” in the general meeting held at Nakhatrana, the general meeting of Kolhapur Patidar Sanatan Samaj was held at Kolhapur on date 25‑07‑2011. In which, when the subject of implementation of the White Paper came up, the Satpanthi elder asked for time saying that we Satpanthis will think and inform all the society within 15 days, but, as all Sanatanis know the modus operandi of Satpanthis all over India, immediately one of their Satpanthi brothers demanded the minutes of the annual general meeting held by the society. Also, a team of four to five lawyers of Satpanthis came from Ahmedabad and surveyed all the property sites of the society by visiting them. Therefore, all the workers of Kolhapur Samaj became alert.

Satpanthis started trying to pull economically weak Sanatani families in the society towards themselves by luring and misleading them with greed for money and business. But alert leaders of the society took appropriate steps on time. Made these families aware of the true facts and provided necessary help. These families also supported Sanatan Samaj from the heart. So the situation came under control.

Meanwhile, in the annual general meeting of Kolhapur Patidar Sanatan Mahila Mandal, all Satpanthi sisters (women) were rejected by majority and all Sanatani sisters were taken in their place and my wife Sau. Godavariben Harilal Vagadia was appointed as the President of Mahila Mandal. Therefore, Satpanthi sisters quarreled and argued on a very large scale and annoyed Satpanthi sisters called their family members by phone. Satpanthis immediately committed a heinous and condemnable as well as inhuman act of locking the shutter going down from the community hall and confining the women in one place. As soon as this news was received, Sanatani brothers of the society immediately reached Patidar Bhavan and the women were released by opening the lock. At that time Satpanthi brothers shouted loudly and threatened that we will see you tomorrow. Therefore, the workers of Kolhapur Patidar Samaj became alert and took appropriate steps, so that any trick of Satpanthis could not succeed.

To comply with the verdict given by the arbitrator of Umiya Mataji Sansthan, Unjha on date 08‑10‑2017, the President of Kolhapur Samaj Shri Gopalbhai Valjibhai Bhavani and also the Chairman of Sanatani Shatabdi Mahotsav and his colleagues tried very hard to convince Satpanthis and Satpanthis gave false assurance every time that we will withdraw the claim on the next court date.

As of today, five families from sensible Satpanthis have joined Sanatan and withdrawn their claims. Heartfelt thanks to them for that. Claims of other Satpanthis are still going on in which I have appeared on behalf of the society. Therefore, it is a prayer to Kuldevi Ma Umiya and Ishtadev Shri Laxminarayan to give good sense to the remaining Satpanthis before the start of the Shatabdi Mahotsav i.e., 11, 12, 13, 14-May‑2023.

You will be happy to know that the cases running in the Charity Commissioner’s court have come in favor of Sanatan Samaj. All applications of Sanatanis have been accepted. A few civil cases filed by Satpanthis to harass Sanatanis are going on, which will have a good solution over time.

Currently only 2 to 3% people are in Satpanth. Rest of the entire society is Sanatani. Which shows the Sanatani commitment of the society. Kolhapur Samaj has always remained connected with Central Samaj with full firmness and will always remain connected in future too.

Currently, the whole of India is marching towards Hindu Rashtra under the successful leadership of our people’s beloved Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi and Amitbhai Shah, then I conclude with a prayer to Ma Umiya that these Satpanthis understand the essence behind this and wake up. Just being called Sanatani does not make anyone Sanatani. Are we completely independent from Islamic mentality? Everyone will have to know the answer to this question.
